His Excellency, Mr. Michael Bryce AM, AE, KSt J has accepted the role of Patron of the Public Education Foundation. Mr Bryce was educated at Brisbane State High School. The Foundation is honoured to have Mr Bryce’s patronage.

The winners of the Public Education Foundation’s inaugural Stellar Scholarships received their awards from the Governor-General last Monday.

They are pictured here with the Governor General of Australia, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, the NSW Minister for Education The Hon. Verity Firth and Professor Fred Watson, Chief Astronomer of the Anglo-Australian Telescope.

Stellar Scholarship Winners Announced

The winners of the 2010 Stellar Astronomy Scholarships were announced on Monday 22 March. 12 winners have been selected from over 100 applications from students in NSW public schools. The selection panel was chaired by Professor Fred Watson, and the awards will be presented by Her Excellency the Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Ms Quentin Bryce AC.
