Design a Card Competition

How to enter

  1. Email your entry

Please submit your entry via email to info@publiceducationfoundation.org.au with the answers to the following. (Note: You can copy and paste this below into the email and fill in)

  • First & Last Name
  • Your Year at School
  • Your Email
  • School Name and Address
  • School contact person and email
  • I have attached a JPEG or PDF of my design to this email and sent to info@publiceducationfoundation.org.au
  • I am entering my design into the following category
    • Thank you Card Design
    • Christmas Card Design
  • I have read and agree to the Competition Rules Y/N

 

  1. Attach your artwork as specified to the email
  • Include the artwork as an image file (PDF/JPEG) with high enough resolution for print reproduction.
  • The artwork should be presented on paper either A4 (297 mm x 210 mm) or A3 (420 mm x 297 mm) in size and in either landscape or portrait orientation.
  • The artwork may be done in pencil, crayon, felt tip, paint, or by using computer drawing or design software in 2D only.

By submitting your entry you agree you have read and are bound by the competition rules. Please ensure you have read the Competition Rules below before sending your email.

 Competition Rules

  1. Is a student enrolled and attending a public school in any Australian state or territory
  2. Entries must align with the theme
  3. The artwork should be presented on paper either A4 (297 mm x 210 mm) or A3 (420 mm x 297 mm) in size and in either landscape or portrait orientation. This will then allow you to scan it and email the file.
  4. The artwork may be done in pencil, crayon, felt tip, paint, or by using computer drawing or design software in 2D only.
  5. We will not accept entries that used additional materials to create 3D effects, including glitter-type materials.
  6. Participants need to complete the information required when emailing through the entry.
  7. Entries must be the participants’ original artworks that have not been published before, nor submitted for other competitions, and must not infringe intellectual property rights.
  8. All entries become the property of the Public Education Foundation Ltd and, whether selected or not, will not be returned upon submission.
  9. The Public Education Foundation Ltd assumes the right to edit, alter, publish, reuse, distribute, or exhibit the artworks in any manner whatsoever, including for publicity and educational purposes.
  10. Staff and their family members of Public Education Foundation Ltd are not permitted to participate.
  11. The organiser’s decisions on the competition results are final.
  12. All personal information collected by the Public Education Foundation Ltd will only be used in matters relating to the “Design a Card Competition” which includes for publicity and promotional purposes.
  13. The Public Education Foundation Ltd reserves all the rights to change the competition rules, regulations, prizes and other arrangements without prior notice.

Judging

The judges may disqualify an entry if they have reason to believe that it does not comply with the entry. The judges retain the right not to select a winner in each category if no suitable entry is entered. Judging will be made in line with the ‘Competition Rules’, so make sure you have read them thoroughly!

Finalists and winners

Three individuals in each of the two creative categories will be contacted via email and announced on this website in late November (date TBC).

Please ensure you submit a valid email address with your entry.

The winning individuals will be contacted via email and announced on the website and in email correspondence, as well as having their successful design printed and used.

Prizes

Prizes for each of the three individuals in each of the two creative categories are:

  • Printing of their design for 2019/2020 Thank you Cards and 2019 Christmas cards, including recognition of their and their schools participation. The individual students name will be published on the inside of the card, along with a brief paragraph of how their design came about. The school logo will also appear.
  • The recipient will receive 25 printed cards of their design and the school will receive 100 printed cards of their students design.
  • There will also be a write-up and photo of all the winners published on the Public Education Foundation Website, on social media, and in our newsletter.
