The Public Education Awards showcase the exceptional work that occurs every day across NSW public education – by schools, students, teachers, staff and parents, and volunteers.
Key Dates
- Monday 14 April 2025 at 9:00am: Nominations for the 2025 Public Education Awards open.
- Friday 9 May 2025 at 5:00pm: Nominations for all categories.
- Monday 4 August 2025: Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at Sydney Town Hall.
How to nominate
To nominate someone for an award, visit the Award Force platform.
If you are new to Award Force, you will need to create an account with your work email address to submit nominations.

Open to all staff:
Recognising schools and school-based staff:
- Minister’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
- Secretary’s Award for Excellent Service
- Secretary’s Award for Outstanding School Achievement
Recognising students, parents and volunteers:
- Minister’s Award for Excellence in Student Achievement
- Public School Parent and Volunteer of the Year Award

Public Education Awards 2024
Winners of the awards were officially announced at the Public Education Awards at the Sydney Town Hall on Monday 5 August 2024, as part of Public Education Week and aligns with last year’s theme of Proud to Belong. The program is available here.
